There have been calls for "security patrols and greater Garda action" at the Glen River Park.
Cork City Fire Brigade were called to an extensive gorse fire at the northside park on Thursday.
It was the second suspected arson attacks in 48 hours.
This morning's Echo is reporting that "Green Party councillor Oliver Moran said burning in the park has been a problem for several years", and that "there is now a need for the city to assign a park ranger to protect the park".
