Cork drivers were among the worst offenders on the Garda 'National Slow Down Day' - between 7am yesterday and 7 o'clock this morning.
Over 140,000 vehicles were observed nationwide as part of the initiative - and 211 were caught speeding.
One motorist was clocked doing 157 kilometres an hour in a 100km/hr zone on the N25 at Ballyadam, and another driving at 154 kilometres an hour in a 120km/hr zone on the M8 at Kilworth.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal to motorists to slow down and comply with speed limits, to help reduce the number of collisions, injuries and fatalities on our roads.
