Instances of physical restraint have almost tripled in a year at a Cork mental health centre for Children and adolescents.
The Mental Health commission says episodes of restraint which are used to prevent a persons movement who is a danger to themselves or others are down nationally, but up by 30% in Cork.
Eist Linn had the highest increase. as instances of restraint tripled from 14 in 2022 to 37 in 2023.
