Officers attended the scene at a house in Buttevant shorty after 9:30pm after being alerted about the death of the man in his early 60s
The man’s body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.
Garda Press say the results of the post mortem will determine the course of the investigation.
