Ireland's likely to try to extradite the Kinahans from the United Arab Emirates - after the country froze their assets this week.
That's according to a criminal barrister, and Fine Gael's spokesperson for justice in the Seanad.
Top members of the crime gang live in Dubai, including Daniel Kinahan.
Ireland doesn't have an extradition agreement with the UAE - but Senator Barry Ward, says Kinahan gangsters could nevertheless be sent back here to face charges:
"I am aware of one case where an Italian National was extradited from the United Arab Emirates to Italy; again, where no extradition treaty existed but where the two countries agreed to cooperate. So I hope and presume that Ireland will now take steps to see if the relevant people can be extradited from the UAE to Ireland to face charges here, and we would hope that the appropriate authorities in the UAE would cooperate with that process.".
