Fota Wildlife Park has welcomed the birth of baby lemurs for the first time in over a decade.

People can go to the fotawildlife.ie to suggest names for the latest arrivals.

Faye McKeown, trainee primate ranger at Fota Wildlife Park, says the lemurs are a particularly popular attraction.

"The two new ring tailed babies are four and five months old, we have a little boy and a little girl.

"It's very important because they're the first ring tailed babies in the park in over 12 years.

"Everybody knows lemurs because they're from the movie Madgascar, and that's also really helpful in getting the message across because that's where they're from and that's the only place in the world where you can find lemurs."
