Nurses at University Hospital Limerick will begin industrial action in the form of work-to-rule this morning.
Staffing in the ICU at Limerick is currently operating at a 22 percent deficit.
The INMO says the lack of safe staffing is having a detrimental impact on the wellbeing of its members.
The hospital is the most overcrowded in the country again today with 64 patients without a bed at the facility followed by Cork University Hospital where 63 people are being treated on trolleys
