People are being asked to be vigilant as an orange warning for forest fires is in place across the country.
The Department of Agriculture issued the national warning due to wind and low humidity levels.
Places at most serious risk are areas with dry vegetation, including dead grasses and gorse.
Firefighters battled a gorse blaze in Sandyford in Dublin yesterday.
Green Party councillor, Colm Kenny, is urging people to report any fires:
"We're just asking the public to be vigilant regarding fire activity and report any signs of fire to the emergency services; to phone 999 or 112 and give the precise location".
