An orange rain warning will be in place for Cork from midday, with localised flooding and travel disruption expected.
Over 50 millimetres of rain is forecast in parts of West Cork, however high intensity downpours are not expected.
Speaking to RedFM News Director of Services at Cork City Council, David Joyce says crews are on standby to deal with any blocked drains
"It is not a tidal flood. We're not expecting significant river flooding in the city. What we're expecting is due to the persistent and constant rain. There may be some areas of localised flooding if drains or gullies get blocked with debris that might get washed into them"
