HSE will start vaccinating 12 to 15 year old's against covid-19 this weekend.
The registration portal for the age cohort will open on Thursday, and appointments will be offered immediately.
Over the weekend, nine thousand people got their first dose at walk-in vaccination centres
Dr Denis McCauley, head of the IMO's GP Committee, says getting 12 to 15 year old's vaccinated is a significant step:
"I think it is positive news, I think it's once again as the hopefully the end of a long journey where the uptake of the vaccine has been excellent, even in the age groups from 16 to 20 It's been it has been really wonderful that the final stage, hopefully, of the vaccine process. Parents will now, look at the evidence and decide if they want to have the vaccine given to their child."
