A number of road closures are coming into effect this weekend to facilitate the Cork City Marathon on Sunday

The full length marathon will start at 8.15am from Patrick Street, followed by a 10km Race, which will start at 8.45am from Patrick Street with assembly on Merchant’s Quay at 8.15am

Most areas of the city will be affected to varying extents with a slew of road closures, starting and finishing at different times depending on the location.

The Jack Lynch Tunnel is open throughout the race but a contra-flow will operate in the southbound bore, so traffic will be slower than normal.

Gardaí are advising road users to expect delays along the route and leave extra time for their journeys
