The Taoiseach has said he'll push for Ukraine to be given EU membership.
Volodomyr Zelensky's political party has been given associate membership of Fianna Fáil's European grouping ALDE.
The group is meeting in Dublin this weekend with the response to the war in Ukraine high on the agenda.
Micheál Martin has said Ireland will respond to Ukraine's EU membership bid:
"There will be engagement, as there has to be - as there was with us - for quite a considerable time before we joined. The shortest possible time frame is what I would be looking at because I think we're at a historic moment, where the whole of Europe and democratic states are saying enough is enough in respect of the rise of authoritarian regimes".
