The Taoiseach is being urged to deliver on commitments made with respect to the upgrading of Clonakilty Fire Station
Independent TD Michael Collins previously raised the matter in the Dáil where he highlighted significant issues with the current building that is housing the fire service, including a rodent infestation and a lack of suitable changing rooms for female fire personnel
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar promised to raise the matter with the Minister responsible Darragh O'Brien who oversees the support of fire authorities through the allocation of capital funding for priority infrastructure projects.
Calls have now been made on the Taoiseach to make Clonakilty fire station a priority or risk losing staff who are being forced to work in substandard working conditions
