Larysa Gerasko was speaking on a visit to Cork this afternoon to meet with the Lord Mayor and Council CEO.
There are around 1,000 Ukrainian refugees in the city and county, many of whom the ambassador says will need access to education including English language courses and medical care.
Ambassador Gerasko has accused Russia of committing war crimes and has reiterated her calls for the Russian Ambassador and Russian diplomats to be expelled from Ireland.
Speaking to RedFM News, Ambassador Larysa Gerasko says the international community has to turn its back on Russia:
"Russia has to pay for such atrocities and for [the lost of] thousands of Ukrainian lives. For Bucha massacre, for the atrocities in Mariupol."
