Two people were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out on the roof of the Kane Science Building in UCC this afternoon.
The two had been carrying out works on the roof and were treated, as a precautionary measure, by ambulance at the scene.
Four units of Cork City Fire Brigade brought the blaze under control.
Fire Control were notified at around 20 past 2 this afternoon.
They have since returned to base.
The Kane Building is home to science labs, lecture theatres and academic offices, however these were not affected.
Speaking to RedFM News, a spokesperson for Cork City Fire Brigade said that pre-designated emergency plan for the building was successfully followed.
