University College Cork and Munster Technological University are to receive 3 million euro each for their campus by the end of the year.
The Minister for Further and Higher Education, Simon Harris has announced 40 million euro in funding for colleges across the country.
The funding will be provided through the Devolved Grant system - and can cover measures to make the campuses more energy efficient, more accessible and to make health and safety improvements.
