University College Cork's latest annual accounts show that the the educational intuition managed to reduce its deficit, despite the pandemic.
The financial report shows that in the year up to September 2020, the university's net deficit fell to 2.3 million euro, compared to 5.6 million euro in 2019.
Revenue from academic fees including from international students, and grants from the state, grew in 2020, but research funding fell.
Staffing and operating costs fell due, in large part, to the pandemic and teaching being forced online.
