Unions say state pension age should not be raised further

The qualifying age had been due to rise to 68 by 2028, but this change has now been delayed to 2039.

The SIPTU union says the change should be scrapped altogether.

SIPTU economist Michael Taft says the benefit payment for 65 year olds means raising the state pension age won’t make much of a difference:
