President Ursula von der Leyen of the European Commission will address a joint sitting of the Houses of the Oireachtas today.
Von der Leyen will meet Taoiseach Micheál Martin and President Michael D. Higgins.
She will become the second President of the European Commission to address the Oireachtas, with Jean-Claude Juncker having done so in 2018.
Fine Gael TD Neale Richmond says the Ukrainian crisis will dominate the agenda.
"More does need to be done, and the European Commission will be pushing for more in relation to a more collective effort in terms of securing energy, tougher sanctions and most importantly implementing the sanctions that already exist against Russia.
"Also, more cooperation at a European level in collection to our collective security and that's a big discussion that's facing the European Union in the coming months and years."
