The use of Digital Covid Certs may be extended beyond next week amid rising case numbers.
NPHET has advised Government cases are increasing and health officials are seeing worrying trends.
Ministers have suggested the planned full reopening of society on October 22nd may now be more limited.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin has said they'll make a call next Tuesday after getting public health advice.
"Cases have gone up, and the conversion rate between the number of cases and those attending hospital has increased as well.
"That is a cause of concern, maybe the guard has dropped a bit across society, understandably as we've opened up significantly.
"There's a need now for all of us to knuckle down."
