The Tánaiste Leo Varadkar is in the US today where he will take part in a series of meetings aimed at strengthening trade relations between Ireland and the US.
The visit is the Tánaiste's first since being appointed Minister for Enterprise last year, and also the first since the UK left the EU at the start of the year.
Latest figures show that there are 900 US companies operating in Ireland, employing 180,000 people.
The Tánaiste Leo Varadkar will meet with US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and Ambassador Katherine Tai, United States Trade Representative, to discuss Covid and Brexit challenges, ahead of the upcoming Trade and Technology Council meeting between the EU and the US when President Joe Biden and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will meet at the end of the month.
