The Active Community Awards 2023 were held on the 13th December at the Old Cork Waterworks Experience to acknowledge contributions to community sports and physical activities in Cork.

Initiated by Cork Sports Partnership, the awards aim to honour those promoting community sports and well-being.
The virtual awards ceremony showcased 12 finalists across four categories.
Lord Mayor Cllr. Kieran McCarthy highlighted winners' impact, stressing diverse opportunities for physical activity in Cork's evolving community.
Deputy Mayor Cllr. John Healy commended all finalists for their positive contributions.
Winners received an Active Community Award medal, framed certificate, hamper, and a video highlighting their community work.
Tim Burke, Community Sports Development Officer with Cork Sports Partnership, thanked contributors, emphasizing the awards' message to communities—encouraging a healthy and active lifestyle.
Burke also acknowledged volunteers' indispensable role in eliminating barriers to sport and physical activity.
