A man in his 30's arrested in connection with the investigation into the murder of Michael Foley remains in custody while a woman in her 30's has been released without charge
The 61-year-old was found dead at his home in Macroom in Co Cork ten days ago.
The man and woman who are both in their 30s were arrested in Cork city on Wednesday morning and taken to Bandon Garda station for questioning.
The woman has been released without charge and gardaí will prepare a file for the Director of Public prosecutions while the man remains in custody.
It’s understood father of four Michael Foley had been dead for several days before he was discovered at his home at a sheltered housing complex at Barrett’s Place in Macroom.
A post mortem confirmed he has suffered a violent death including stab wounds and injuries to his head.
