Workers at a Civil and Mechanical Engineering company which provides support to Ireland's gas network, are on strike in White's Cross today.
Staff at G-M-C say they've not had a pay increase since 2019.
Its SIPTU members will picket outside the company's operations in Cork as well as Limerick, Dublin and Carlow.
Cork TD Mick Barry says he understands the employers backtracked on a previous agreement:
"Well, I'm reading that there was an agreement for a pay increase going back some months and that the employer has reneged on has tried to lob a whole load of extra terms and conditions on at the last minute. I mean, that's not a serious approach to industrial relations and workers are right to stand up for themselves."
