Road users are being warned of icy conditions this morning, as a weather warning is in effect.
A yellow alert for ice and low temperatures is in place for Cork andmuch of the country until 10 am.
Met Eireann has issued a warning from Munster and Connacht, many counties in Leinster, as well as Donegal and Monaghan.
Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather, says almost all of the country will experice very cold temperatures this morning.
"Really it's most areas apart from the east coast, so Dublin will escape most of the frost.
"But when you move away from the east coast all areas will be impacted by the frosty conditions, with some patches of fog also."
